Our one-day practical course on Bail Applications provides a comprehensive look at the legal framework and procedures involved in various bail settings. Tailored for lawyers, caseworkers, and those assisting individuals in detention, this course covers the essentials of applying for immigration bail and includes realistic, live scenarios to enhance learning.
In the UK, there are limited circumstances under which authorities can detain individuals involuntarily, one of which is immigration detention. In 2018, nearly 25,000 people were detained under immigration powers, with around 1,800 in detention at any given time. These figures highlight a significant segment of the UK’s migrant population. Over half of these detainees were eventually released into the community, predominantly through immigration bail. This course is designed to provide legal professionals with practical tools and guidance to aid those in detention and their families in securing bail.
